thirty's, where i want to be

so, i was on a me-time break when i started watching this 2000's movie called 13 going 30. idk what it is about 2000's teen movies, but they’re so comforting and a perfect no-brainer.
***
SUMMARY
to sum up the movie, the protagonist, who’s 13, fantasizes about being a well-adjusted adult, and suddenly, her wish comes true when she transforms into a 30-year-old.

THIS got me thinking about my own romanticized view of turning 30, believing it brings freedom, experience, self-acceptance, and peace. sure, there are repercussions like lost friendships, being far from family etc etc. but honestly, i’m okay with it because i want to earn my 30s. so, here’s an ode to the hope of being 30 and embracing it all. (i could’ve just gone with a simple blog, but where's the challenge? **cries in a corner**.)

hope you like it!

"thirty's, where i want to be"

i thought to myself as my face lit up with glee.

you're three decades deep,

that's when you know whom to keep,

and whom to release...

i want to be "thirty, flirty & thriving"

oh, the freedom! so enticing

no longer just learning, now truly experiencing,

it's the beginning of a new decade,

and a milestone made!

wish we had more songs to serenade,

to celebrate the age that life has laid.

your vessel may get worn out,

but your spirit grows stronger, without a doubt!

i hope, at thirty, i too stand with grace,

ready to embrace the path i will trace.

i hope, at thirty, i too carry the weight of the years,

with wisdom to guide me & visions to steer.

not merely to age, but to earn every part,

with each challenge met, and the strength of my heart.
